Dan Stovall
Dan Stovall is an avid horseman, artist, outdoorsman and family man who grew up visiting his mother’s family ranch in Texas, where he learned a love for horses and the American West from his Grandfather. As an Arkansan, he was enveloped by the “Natural State” and much of its still untouched wilderness at a young age. This love of the outdoors, horses, and cowboy culture combined to give him an {appreciation for a uniquely American experience of the world. Dan has worked at various equine facilities as caretaker and trainer, visited and witnessed open range gathering and sorting at some of the largest ranches in America, and still rides his horses daily. This experience, along with a love of the golden age illustrators of the early 1900s, informs his work, which strives to connect the Old West of history with the still living experiences of Americans today.
